Order of Patriarch Filaret to prevent the adoption of the bill "On the Institute of Registration of Partnerships"

His Holiness Patriarch of Kiev and All Rus'-Ukraine Filaret turned to the Head of the Supreme Council of Ukraine for the sake of Ruslan Stefanchuk and the People's Deputies of Ukraine, calling on them not to allow the adoption of the bill “On the Institute of Registration of Partnerships”.

As it became known, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered the draft Law “On the Institute for Registration of Partnerships” (registration number 9103 dated 13 March 2023). The bill transfers the legalization of one-state unions in Ukraine, as well as the recognition on the territory of our country of registrations in other lands of one-state partnerships and “lovers”.

The guessing of the bill, like all other legislators, try to recognize one-statute "slub" on the official level, as anti-Christian and immoral. Legitimized in Ukraine, philanthropy between people alone can supersede the Divine revelation, Christian faith, the nature of people, the thousand-year-old culture of the Ukrainian people and a healthy mind. This position is no less than the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate, but also the All-Ukrainian For the sake of the Churches and religious organizations.

The Lord created a man and a woman and commanded them to be with the mother. The very fruit of such an alliance is the nation of children. “I having created God to People in His own image, having created in the image of God її; having created a man and a woman. And God blessed them, and God said to them: be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and lead it,” says the Holy Scripture (But. 1, 27-28).

Fornication is a sin, for which God will punish the skin sinner in a binding way, as it happened when you were sent from Sodom and Gomorrah (But. 19). Bringing the sin of Sodom to the blessed of God, I pray between a man and a woman and a wicked man before God.

It is also the basis of one-article “slubivs” (chi, as they call the bill, “partnerships”) to supersede the Constitution of Ukraine, Article 51, so it’s clear to say that “slub is rooting for the free will of a woman and a person.” The very obov'yazkom power was appointed to protect its family, and one-state institutes to ruin.

This bill posed a threat to the national security of Ukraine. We can’t make a split in the Ukrainian society, but in the minds of the Russian-Ukrainian war it’s not safe, because we weaken our defense. In another way, if there is a demographic crisis in Ukraine, legitimizing single-state “loves”, like “partnerships”, put the threat away from the buttya of the Ukrainian nation.

My obov’yazok, like the Ukrainian Patriarch, will come to you from a call not to look at the bill that is shoddy for the Ukrainian people and not to allow the legalization of sin on the legislator’s level. I ask you to promote the fundamental foundations of the morality of the Ukrainian society. As the Apostle Pavlo calls out, “try what is pleasing to God, i do not take part in the indecent troubles of darkness, but twist” (Eph. 5, 10-11).

The Church will never be reconciled to sin and will not go against the laws established by God.

I believe that you will feel the voice of the Orthodox Church, the voice of reason, do not allow the adoption of the bill “On the Institute for Registration of Partnerships”, which is shoddy for the Ukrainian people.
